It Takes Time To Profit From An Online Business, Meanwhile…

While working on, planning and establishing an online business there are some things you can do to encourage connections, confidence, progress and get experience that will fuel your business once it is truly profitable on its own.

Rather you have no money to spend and you’d like to make some, or if you have money and want to invest to encourage faster progress there are great tools to help you get forward in your business, despite the work you’re doing that is directly specific to running or starting it.  Here are my tips:

Fiverr

Sign up for fiverr.com

Fiverr is a website that gives people the ability to connect with products and services that are worth $5.  You could get someone to do a service for you for $5 or you could list something you would like to do for others.  You can help someone get more experience, get a service done that you didn’t want to do yourself or get the word out there about your business and services, while getting more experience. There are very fun ideas on fiverr.com

Sign up for business 2 blogger…

If you have an online business you’re working on getting into the blogging community is important.  You can set up your own blog and find promotions you could contribute to, or you could list something you’d like to promote and get bloggers to work for you.  Business 2 Blogger is a great website.  The blog has a lot of information on internet-based business and blogs.  The jobs posted there are diverse and you can sign up as an affiliate to encourage other businesses to post blogger jobs on the site.

Sign up for wicked start…

Wicked start is a business start-up site that helps you get through each level of progress you need to address to start a business.  I personally think that if you have already started a business or you’re working freelance this site is a great tool to help you prioritize and summarize what you need and where you are in defining your work.

Sign up for dowhatyoulove.com or warrior forum.com

Warrior forums are full of people talking about different techniques to succeed online.  Do What You Love is a little more focused and is the brainchild of Frederic Patenaude who blogs, and gives courses on succeeding with an online business.  They will both give you the information and education you need to continue progressing on your goals.

Are there any other tips you’d recommend?

Which of these have you tried or are you willing to try?

A Business Update

I just wanted to let you all know what I’m up to right now.

Like I predicted, I’m definitely going to keep focusing on my other two blogs for the month of December, but I’ll be here too.

I also predicted that stepping back would help me define my approach on this blog and that has also happened.

I realize I really want to talk about starting a business on this blog.

I had a business plan I wanted to implement upon graduating from high school and next year will be 10 years since I graduated high school.

I’m sure I’ll later get to the why on the long journey it has been to actually do this, but I want to just let you know now the tools that are really helping me get to where I need to be to get this done before my 28th birthday.

www.Wickedstart.com is a great site that automates the steps of starting a business and keeps you on track.

www.stevepavlina.com has been a great site of inspiration for a few years and is like ‘personal development for smart people’, but includes a lot on self-employment and business in general.

www.dowhatyoulove.com  has really helped me clarify things to the point of tackling concrete milestones on the path to my ultimate business goals.

I’m also reading Conscious Business from www.kundaliniresearchinstitute.com

I don’t think I could possibly ever list all my influences in starting this venture… I have taken everything that really inspired me, that I really vibed with, that felt natural to me, that I’ve felt I could add to, or do ‘better’ than I’ve seen, and I can easily look back on my entire life, even at the age of 3 to see influences and moments of clarity that I’ve stored up and added to this grand scheme of mine.

Finally, I’m making it happen.  Finally I have the confidence, the ‘know how’, the commitment, the certainty that this is happening.   I have tried, a few times before, and if feels like I’ve gone around this idea in a circle.  It feels like I was skating around the rink, unable to move towards the center, but I’m finally there.

Essentially, I think I paid my dues.  I was always uncomfortable with the idea of doing something I may not have been 100% sure of, 100% ready for, 100% qualified to do… I don’t have any of those doubts anymore.  I don’t feel like I need to prove myself to anyone anymore, I don’t feel like I’m lacking any necessary quality to succeed.

I’ve had teachers, mentors, I’ve studied family and friends… I finally learned how to ask for help…I finally learned how to see my skills, talents, attributes and feel balanced in using them… I finally learned to create my own sense of value, my own sense of security, service, my comfort with compensation for work.  These were all issues I had on this path…philosophical and circumstantial issues that got in my way.  I’m happy to have balance and to fully embrace this new phase of my life and work.

Next chance I get I’ll write a post reflecting on my past work experience, ideas, attempts and how what I’m doing now came to fruition and how its working for me.  Hopefully in the next week.

Can you relate to this work-life awakening I’m having?  Does your work suit you?  Are you planning and scheming for work you’re passionate about?  I’d love to hear about it!

How I’ve Worked This Past Week and 1/2

Like I said earlier, I have actually journaled a lot of my weekly happenings with pen and paper, but I’ve also had a hard time keeping up with said pen and paper, so I’m working from memory here.

This week, I worked on some business2blogger campaigns, as well as some fiverr.com orders.  I also worked on a poetry submission that I still haven’t finished for literary ezines.  I launched my Yoga/Life Coaching related website and I’ve been mentored on starting a business with my aunt.

Like I’ve said elsewhere I want to have a business I can travel with.  Years ago I had this idea and was somewhat successful but it didn’t last very long.  I had a website on which I did life coaching and helping people with weight loss.  At that time I was also accepted to do an eco-travel job where I was supposed to document my traveling experiences for a website.  I didn’t have a video camera(I was supposed to make v-logs) and I didn’t have a laptop, so it didn’t work out.  I was eager to leave with my family, so I didn’t even have a digital camera.  We eventually got a laptop on the road but getting wi-fi was tough.  It was very difficult to work on the road in those circumstances.

We tried to get an RV, find communities, teach yoga, do life coaching and lead cleanses.  We also made most of our money through street performing.  At that time I think we just needed to see what it was like…that we did.  Now that we have a travel trailer and we know what it is like to be on the road, we both feel a lot more confident and committed to this idea.  Over the past years I’ve asked a lot of people online for advice and many times I’ve been told I’m trying to do too many things.  In some ways that is true, I was trying to do things as if I was the only person who could do them.  I definitely don’t want to hesitate with my goals, but I do want to bring in more people to help.  That is my next mission on my journey.  To bring in more people.

This might not really make sense right now.  I’m a little brainfried from transcribing!  However I really needed to write this blog and I’ll probably be back to make it more accurate later.

I’ve Been Around The Blogging Block…

and I..I…I, I can’t find my blog theme, that I really want. I really want something that highlights my categories on the first page. Makes my blog title and blurb look nice(I think this one does pretty good), looks clean but colorful(this one is colorless). I also want to be able to show my twitter feed(maybe not on this blog, but for now I want to see how this goes) and a link to other blogs and my recent posts. I’d rather have just one blog post on the front page, though.

If you’re reading this and none of what I’m saying reflects my current blog appearance, that means I’ve hopefully found my blog theme, or I’m playing with another one.  I wrote on my Manifestations of Me page that blogging is a dream come true for me.  Before I understood what blogging was, the idea occurred to me and I wished I could just use my own space to write about what I know and what I think is important or interesting to share with people.  I’m so pleasantly surprised that I finally stuck with a blog and I’m seeing a great growth in my own comfort and competence, as well as from my audience.

I thought I’d test out this blogging thing and see how it worked out.  Previously I spent the years writing on www.associatedcontent.com as well as www.Odesk.com and a few other article writing, freelance opportunities.  I decided I no longer wanted to do that kind of work.  I also spent some time submitting more creative work to print and online magazines.  This is definitely lacks stability for my lifestyle.  I don’t really like to spend forever on the internet and I have a tough time being on someone else’s schedule or following strict rules.

This past month, I’ve been mostly lurking on the 31 Days To A New Blog posted on Business2Blogger and Mom Loop.  The challenge was last month and I worked in some of the activities listed, but I’m really started to work on the rest now…I’m a rebel when it comes to scheduled events, it is not on purpose, it just takes me a while to decide to add something new to my repertoire, if I didn’t think it out well ahead of time, and this challenge was something I found around the beginning of the month and I felt I was already behind and overwhelmed by it.  However, it was a really great event and I’m glad to now feel up to the task.

In some ways I have become more clear with some of my goals.  My goal for this blog is to market solely with comments on other blogs, as well as the built in stuff I have already.  With my creative blog I want to specifically advertise many of my posts.  With my business blog I want to advertise with comments as well…and with my community free skool blog I want to advertise by getting guests posts, doing a blog carnival and posting on websites.  I want to write real articles for some of my blogs as well.

http://theblogfrog.com/1362952/forum/132701/direct-links-to-all-of-the-30-days-to-build-a-better-blog-challenge.html

My goal for this blog is mostly to journal, gather information from others about my specific brand of alternative living, be accountable to myself, inspire others to create and follow their own dreams and just rant if I really want to.   Looking at my blog, I’m not sure if that’s what I’ve done…and that’s fine, I’m not abandoning it, but I do plan on getting a little distance to help determine how to make my goal more a reality.

This blog has been an experiment and I’m happy with the results so far.  Now that I’ve had several months of blogging, I’m going to be sharing more of my blogging secrets here (not that they’re really secrets).  I also want to share a lot more about the RV lifestyle, parenting (including raising bilingual kids and elimination communication) and my health/nutrition experiences.  I’m excited to this blog grow as I provide less content, but more selective entries.

Work Wednesday

This week I updated my business blog.  I’ve worked on e-books, e-courses and coaching programs, blogged up a storm and studied a lot of best business practices.  I applied for a few of the jobs at Business 2 Blogger and I’m holding a meetup this weekend.  I’ve opened up my other blog to questions and wrote a few advice article responses.

This has been a busy week in my personal life, but my blog views are better than they’ve ever been and I’m getting more and more clear about what I want to do and how to make it work for me.  Best of all, I can already see some tangible success milestones leading me ahead.

My goal for the rest of the week is to post about 8 more blogs between the three I use the most and have a good weekend with my family!  Next week I want to up my work productivity through marketing and schedule myself.  I’ve been working out my goals for my internet work and in-person work and I’m really eager to implement the ideas I have.  I’m also eager to make some story and poetry submissions next week, post craigslist ads and re-launch my www.ning.com site.
